Hacienda Quitralco Fjord is an opportunity to steward your own private fjord on the Chilean Patagonia coast.
Hacienda Quitralco is a unique property located on the fjord of the same name, 4 hours by boat from Aysén (or 20 minutes from the Aysén airfield). It is considered an area of high tourist and conservation value due to the abundance of flora and fauna, its incredible thermal spring waters, and breathtaking scenery. The property encompasses the Mallin River for 20 Km, which begins and ends in the same property. It has 3 hot springs of 40°C, waterfalls, and borders mountain ranges, giving it an absolutely private character.
Quitralco has about 20 km of riverbank of the Mallin River, which runs through the valley and 16 km of coastline. The property has over 10,000 acres of virgin forest, where coigues, mañios, luma and guaitecas cypress stand out. It has more than 5,000 acres of semi flat grassland, which have significant livestock value.
So far three hot springs have been found in the property, all emerging to the surface at temperatures close to 45° C. These have great potential for private spa.
Fly fishing is another great activity on the property and in the nearby rivers. There is an abundance of trout, both rainbow and brown, as well as Chinook salmon in the summer.
There are no access roads or neighbors, since it can only be accessed by plane in a 20 minute flight from Puerto Aysen or 50 minutes from Balmaceda. It is also possible to access through a spectacular boat ride (4 hours) through the spectacular channels and fjords of the area. The property is surrounded by national property, which gives it a character of exclusivity and privacy. From the property via boat it’s possible to visit Laguna San Rafael, the Guaitecas National Reserve and many other noteworthy Patagonian sites.
